A. D. Gray

Andrew D. Gray received the B.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in physics from the University of Sydney, Sydney, NSW, Australia, in 1989 and 1994, respectively. Since 1993, he has worked for National Research Council Canada (NRC) at the Herzberg Institute of Astrophysics' Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory (DRAO), Penticton, BC, Canada. He was initially employed as a Research Associate, working on early science from the Canadian Galactic Plane Survey project. In 1998 he became the Operations Manager, responsible for the operation of DRAO's telescopes, in which role he continues today. Throughout he has maintained both a scientific and technical interest in radio astronomy, including participating in research and development projects for next-generation radio telescopes. Dr. Gray currently sits on the URSI Canadian National Committee as the Chair for Commission J. In 2009, he was a co-recipient of an NRC Outstanding Achievement Award for contributions to the Canadian Galactic Plane Survey.
