Since 2001 I am involved in genetic research of the complex rheumatic diseases systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. This approach allows us to discover critical steps in their pathogenesis in a direct way. More recently, emphasis has been displaced to the search of biomarkers, genetic and non-genetic, of response to treatment in rheumatoid arthritis patients.
