Aamer Chughtai

Aamer Chughtai received the M.D. degree. He is currently a Clinical Professor with the Department of Radiology, Case Western Reserve University, and the Lerner College of Medicine, Cleveland Clinic. His particular expertise is in cardiothoracic imaging, a field to which he has devoted his service and continuing education with the University of Michigan since joining its faculty, in 2004, where he was the Director of Cardiothoracic Intervention Service. In July 2020, he accepted a faculty position with the Division of Thoracic Radiology, Cleveland Clinic Foundation, and the Lerner College of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University. He also works as a Visiting Professor with the Sichuan Academy of Medical Sciences, Chengdu, China. He has an accomplished academic career being the author/coauthor of more than 50 peer-reviewed articles in reputable journals, 32 scientific abstract presentations, 13 scientific/educational exhibits, and 27 abstracts. He has been the principal investigator on one and a co-investigator on three NIH Grants. His research interests include thoracic intervention procedures, lung cancers, and interstitial lung disease. He was a recipient of the RSNA Roentgen Fellow Research Award, in 2005.
