Ahmed Al-Durra (S'07–M'10–SM'14) received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and computer engineering from Ohio State University, Columbus, OH, USA, in 2005, 2007, and 2010, respectively. He is the Co-Founder of the Renewable Energy Laboratory, Petroleum Institute, Abu Dhabi, UAE. He is currently an Associate Professor with the Electrical Engineering Department, Petroleum Institute. He has published more than 70 scientific articles in journals and international conferences. His research interests include application of estimation and control theory in power system stability, micro and smart grids, renewable energy, and process control. He has successfully accomplished several research projects at international and national levels.
