Ahmed Shabaik

Ahmed Shabaik received the M.D. degree from Cario University, Egypt, in 1977. He is Professor of Pathology at the University of California at San Diego, and is certified by the American Board of Pathology in AP, CP, and Cytopathology. His areas of expertise are male genitourinary pathology and fine needle aspiration biopsy performance and interpretation. He has experience in cell image analysis, particularly with quantitation of DNA and ploidy analysis. In addition to his clinical duties, he teaches pathology residents, urology residents, and medical students. Dr. Shabaik is a member of many professional organizations including the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP), International Society of Urologic Pathology (ISUP), and the American Society of Cytopathology (ASC). He is the recipient of the Best Anatomic Pathology Teacher award for 2002.
