Alfredo Álvarez

Alfredo Álvarez received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering, the M.S. degree in physics, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Extremadura, Spain, in 1981, 1995, and 1998, respectively. Since 1984, he has been a Professor with the Electrical Engineering Department, Engineering School, University of Extremadura, teaching classes at all university levels: degree, master’s, and doctorate. In addition, he has supervised four doctoral theses, one of them with a European Doctor Mention and Extraordinary Doctorate Award and two others in foreign universities. He is a Co-Founder of the “Benito Mahedero” Research Group on Electrical Applications of Superconductors with the Engineering School, University of Extremadura, and coauthor of more than two dozen articles indexed in JCR. He has participated in 11 research projects, and presented more than 50 communications and papers at international conferences in the field of applied superconductivity. Prof. Álvarez is a member of several scientific or technical associations. Finally, he has given eight invited conferences in different organizations and entities.
