Bio
Andreas Penirschke (M’09) received the Dipl.-Ing. and Dr.-Ing. degrees in electrical engineering from the Technische Universität Darmstadt, Darmstadt, Germany, in 2002 and 2009, respectively.
He was with the Institute for Microwave Engineering and Photonics, Technische Universität Darmstadt, where he lead the Micro- and Millimeter Wave Sensors Group from 2009 to 2015. From 2013 to 2015, he was the Managing Director of the LOEWE priority program “Sensors Toward Terahertz.” Since 2015, he has been a Full Professor with the High-Frequency Technology Group, Department of Electrical Engineering, Mittelhessen University of Applied Sciences, Friedberg, Germany. He has authored or co-authored over 65 journal articles or conference contributions and participated on two patents and four awards. His current research interests include sensors, material characterization techniques, and sensors and detectors for particle accelerators from the lower microwave range up to the terahertz range.
Prof. Penirschke is a Member of the Society for Information Technology of the VDE, the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society, the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society, and the IEEE Communications Society. He is an Editor of Frequenz.
