My research focuses on the resilience and resilience of forest ecosystems to short- to long-term climate change, chronic biotic and abiotic stressors, and natural disturbances and impacts on forest management. The research unit is running a long-term monitoring network, large-scale field experiments and laboratories. Special emphasis is placed on systems analysis in forest ecosystem research, which requires an integrated approach combining the strengths of different research concepts, such as linking environmental monitoring, experimental ecology and modelling methods.
