Anil Kumar P R currently works at the Biomedical Technology Wing of Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology. He is heading the Division of Tissue Culture and his basic research interests are Biotechnology, Cell Biology and Biomaterials. The ongoing research activities at the Division of Tissue Culture are focused on 3D Bioprinting, tissue specific bioinks, Cell Sheet Engineering, Biofunctionalized thermoresponsive polymers, Functionalized electrospun mats and development of in vitro alternate test systems. Division of Tissue Culture also offers in vitro cell culture tests and studies to internal and external customers under the quality platform. The lab is also working on developing new cell based techniques for testing biomedical devices.
