Anindita Chakrabarty

Anindita Chakrabarty has been a passionate cancer researcher since 2007. Her group is dedicated toward understanding the mechanisms of anticancer drug resistance and finding better therapies for breast cancer patients. Currently Anindita's group is working on 1) role of reactive metabolite formation and anti-tutor efficacy of anti-HER2 drug, 2) role of oxidative stress in the activity of anti-survivin inhibitor YM155, 3) role of senescence in cancer stem cell-enrichment and drug resistance, 4) role of therapy-induced senescence in adaptive evolution of drug resistance. She is also interested in delineating 1) the cytotoxic mechanisms of the herb ashwagandha and 2) cause and consequences of oxidative stress generated by peroxynitrite, a critical player of chronic inflammation.
