Ashvin R Jaiswal

Ashvin completed his Bachelors of Pharmacy at Amravati University, India followed by Masters of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Idaho State University. After working for three years in pharma/biotech, Ashvin returned to academia to pursue his doctoral degree in Tumor Immunology in Dr. Michael Curran’s laboratory at the University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center. For his Ph.D. thesis research, Ashvin developed a novel system to determine the mechanisms which melanoma tumors can engage to become resistant to immunotherapy. Using this system, he has identified metabolic adaptations engaged by these cancers which render them fully resistant to the most potent combinations of T cell checkpoint blockade.
