Basit Qureshi specializes in Edge computing with a focus on Trust, Security, and privacy issues in Wireless Networks, Robots, Smart City applications, and Data Analytics. Over the span of 20 years in his academic career, he has taught numerous graduate and undergraduate courses. He has prepared specialized and delivered courses on Wireless Communications, Mobile Computing, and Cloud Computing at Prince Sultan University. He has also supervised MSc students to the successful completion of thesis research. All of his students have published their works in reputable peer-reviewed journals and conferences. He is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy UK and has earned Best teaching awards at the College of Computer Science, Prince Sultan University. Dr. Qureshi is actively involved in research. He has over 75 publications in peer-reviewed SCIE and Scopus indexed journals and international conferences. In 2021, he was among the top 2% of scientists in wireless networks listed by Elsevier and Stanford University. He received the best paper award at the 6th IEEE/IEFP Trustcom 2010 held in Hong Kong. He has served as a program committee member and organizing committee member of many conferences. He has been the chair and co-chair of the 3rd, 4th and 5th Symposium on Data Mining Applications held bi-annually in Saudi Arabia. He is also the guest editor and member of the editorial board for various SCIE indexed journals. He has also attracted research fundings from King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology as well as Industrial funds from Saudi Telecom with over 2 million SAR in research grants and successfully completed these projects. He was the director of Prince Megrin Data Mining Center at Prince Sultan University from 2013 to 2015. Dr. Qureshi is currently with the College of Computer & Information Science at Prince Sultan University, where he is the chair of the Computer Science Department. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of Bradford in the year 2011. Prior to that, he received his Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Florida Atlantic University in 2002 and his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Ohio University, OH USA in 2000. He is a member of IEEE, IEEE Computer Society, IEEE Communication Society, and the ACM.
