Through his career, he was the instructor of many courses, e.g. Basic Petroleum Geology, Petrophysics, Basic Reservoir Eng., Basic Formation Evaluation, Basic Geophysics, Basin Analysis and Coring & Core Analysis. His main fields of interest are the core analysis and pore fabric assignment applying different techniques. He has worked for a long, about 18 years, in reservoir characterization mostly carbonate and sandstone rocks. Recently he shifted his interest into studying the highly fractured basement reservoir rocks. He has published a total of 18 paper in some pioneer international and outstanding Research Journals, e.g. AAPG, GJI, EGSJ, ESAPJ; more than 12 presentation in international conferences, and has supervised many master theses. He was the Egyptian Principal Investigator PI for many French and American Scientific Joint-Research projects with Boston Univ., Louise Pasteure Univ. and Aix Marseille Univ. Nabawy was one of the founders of the Egyptian Society of Applied Petrophysics ESAP in 2000, has served as a treasurer of the ESAP for 6 years and still a board member, he was the assistant editor of the journal published by ESAP and shared in the organizing staff of three international conferences held by the society during his presence in Cairo. Nabawy has gifted award of the best MSc. thesis in the field of Sedimentology in Egypt in 1999 by Society of Sedimentology and the Prize of the best paper in the field of petrophysics in the 2nd International Conference of Applied Petrophysics, Cairo, 2005.
