Bio
The team “Immunobiology of host-pathogen crosstalk: from single-cell to the clinic” aims at characterizing host-pathogen interactions and identifying signatures of infectious diseases to understand immunopathogenesis.
1) Study of interactions through in vitro/ex vivo models of infection and patient investigation: our researches are primarily focused on two infectious diseases, Whipple’s disease and Q fever, caused by Tropheryma whipplei and Coxiella burnetii, respectively.
2) Assessment of host factors that affect the course of infection (sex, pregnancy, molecular clock)
3) Bench-to-bedside dissection of allergic and dysimmune mechanisms associated with host - microorganism encounters
