He serves as a member of the Steering Committee and Chair, Microvascular Complications on Diabetes Canada’s Clinical Practice Guidelines Committee, leads the CIHR/SPOR-funded Diabetes Action Canada Clinical Trials Goal Group, and was the recipient of the Canadian Diabetes Association – Canadian Institutes of Health Research 2015 Young Scientist Award.

My research program focuses on clinical studies on diabetes complications (primarily on kidney disease and nerve disease complications of diabetes) as well as interventions to help with blood sugar control, including automated insulin delivery ("artificial pancreas") and adjunct-to-insulin approaches (medications used to help the way in which insulin works in the treatment of diabetes).
