Christelle Briois

Christelle Briois is an Associate Professor of Chemistry at the University of Orléans (France). She received her Ph.D. from University of Lille (France) in 2002 and was a ORISE postdoctoral fellow at US EPA in North Carolina at Durham. Her research interests are focused on the characterization of organic matter and their isotopic abundance in order to constraints their formation region(s), on deciphering their biotic vs abiotic origin and interaction with the inorganic species. She centers her skills on in situ study of the organic and inorganic matter of extraterrestrial body by mass spectrometry techniques. She has served respectively as Co-Principal Investigator and associated Co-Investigator for the Rosetta/COSIMA (Cometary Secondary Ion Mass Analyzer) and Rosetta/ROSINA (Rosetta Orbiter Spectrometer for Ion and Neutral Analysis) mass spectrometers instruments on-board the ESA/Rosetta mission. She is currently involved as CoI for the Europa-Clipper SUDA (SUrface Dust Analyzer). She serves as CoPI for the CORALS and CRATER investigations. She leads the CosmOrbitrap consortium aiming to develop the next generation of mass analyzer for future planetary missions.
