Claudia J. Rawn received the B.S. degree in materials engineering from Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, in 1986, the M.S. degree in chemistry from George Mason University, Fairfax, VA, in 1991, and the Ph.D. degree in materials science and engineering from the University of Arizona, Tucson, in 1995. Prior to becoming a Research and Development Staff member in the Metals and Ceramics Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Oak Ridge, TN, she was a Postdoctoral Associate at the Institute Jozef Stefan, Ljubljana, Slovenia. From 1987 to 1992, she was a Materials Engineer in the Ceramics Division at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Her research interests include nonambient X-ray and neutron diffraction to study phase relations and thermal expansion.
