Christian Rembe (M'12) received the Diploma in physics from the University of Hanover, Hanover, Germany, in 1994 and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Ulm, Ulm, Germany. From 1994 to 1999, he was a Scientific Assistant with the University of Ulm. In 1999, he joined the Berkeley Sensor and Actuator Center, University of California at Berkeley (UC Berkeley), as a Postdoctoral Research Engineer, with support from the Feodor Lynen Scholarship of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and the UC Berkeley MacKay Lecturer Fellowship. Since 2001, he has been Manager of Development Optics with Polytec GmbH, Waldbronn, Germany. His research interests include optics, optical measurement techniques, microelectromechanical systems, and dynamic system behavior. Dr. Rembe is a member of the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE), Verein Deutscher Ingenieure, and the Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft. Since 2012, he has been an Editor of the Journal of Microelectromechanical Systems and is a member of the scientific committees of several international conferences in the field of optical measurement techniques. He was a co-recipient of the Research Award for Applied Sciences of the State of Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
