I recently initiated a unique multi-agency initiative,involving the National Health Service, the Health Protection Agency, the MRCClinical Trials Unit, academia and the patient community/advocacy groups (theDHICE Initiative), which aims to develop a UK platform for integrated clinicaland research data. This will permit usto address important research and translational questions relating to HIV carein the UK, and so enhance the quality of care for those living with HIV.
