Christian Servais

Dr. Christian Servais first joined the Institute of Astrophysics at the University of Liège in 1982 designing a digital filter for a prototype Fourier transform infrared spectrometer installed at the high altitude international scientific station of the Jungfraujoch (Switzerland). In April 1984, he moved to the chemistry department of the University of Liège and developed time-of-flight and Photoion-Photoelectron coincidence exper-iments for his PhD thesis that he obtained in September 1994. He then returned to the Institute of Astrophysics were he has been since overseeing all experimental developments at the Laboratory of Atmospheric and Solar Physics located at the Jungfraujoch. He is now specially involved in the design of improved Fourier transform spectrometer acquisition chains and remotely controlled hardware adapted to harsh environ-mental conditions.
