Carl Weimer

Carl Weimer is a Senior Staff Consultant in Systems Engineering at Ball Aerospace. There he manages technology initiatives for Civil and Commercial business as well as coordinating lidar developments across the company. He was the technical manager for the CALIPSO Payload including the CALIOP lidar, and was the System lead for integration and test for Ralph on the New Horizons mission. Carl has seven patents in optical remote sensing. He received his PhD in Physics from Colorado State University, performing his research at NIST in Boulder on single electron ion traps.
