Chanyul Kim received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from Yonsei University, Seoul, South Korea, and the Ph.D. degree in computer science from Dublin City University, Ireland, in 2010, under the supervision of Prof. Noel O’Connor in the Center for Digital Video Processing (CDVP) Lab. He has been working as a Principal Engineer with Samsung Research, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. He had been the project leader and distinguished engineer of image/video analysis and compression for the last 10 years. He is currently leading the team for the next generation display and device that could be candidates for next strategic product including volumetric/micro LED device and eco-imaging systems. His research areas lie in computer vision and video/image compression.
