Bio
Chau-Jern Cheng received the Ph.D. degree in electro-optical engineering from the National Chiao-Tung University, Taiwan, in 1994. He joined the Department of Electronic Engineering, St. John's & St. Mary's Institute of Technology, where he was an Associate Professor in 1994, and served as the Chairman of the Department from 1996 to 1999. In 2001, he moved to the Department of Electrical Engineering, Feng-Chia University, Taichung, Taiwan. From 2002, he was an Associate Professor with the Department of Electro-Optical Engineering, National Taipei University of Technology, Taipei, Taiwan, and has been a Full Professor since 2005. In 2007, he was invited to join the faculty of the Institute of Electro-Optical Science and Technology, National Taiwan Normal University, Taipei, Taiwan and also elected as the Institute's Director. His research interests include information optics, optical metrology, digital holography, hybrid optical/electronic information systems, and 3-D imaging and display. Prof. Cheng is the member of SPIE, OSA, and the Supervisor at Large of Taiwan Photonics Society (TPS).
