Mok Chee-Keng

Dr Mok is an experienced virologist specializing in the diagnosis and pathogenicity of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases. Before joining A*STAR Infectious Diseases Labs (ID Labs), he was Head of the Science and Services Support Team at the Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) Core Facility at the National University of Singapore and led teams of researchers to execute academic research and industry projects , for example, establishing an animal model of COVID-19 for antiviral research, pathogen isolation and identification, verification of virucidal efficacy, etc. From January 2022, Chee Keng has been appointed as the Head of the BSL-3 Platform at ID Labs to manage high biorisk research projects and ensure BSL-3 performance and compliance with international standards and requirements.
