The major research topics in our lab are mechanisms and possible therapeutic approaches for neuropathic pain and opioid tolerance. In our lab, we use rat L5 spinal nerve ligation transection technique as neuropathic pain model. We use rat intrathecal morphine infusion to induce opioid tolerance. We focus on the contribution of glial activation (microglia and astroglia) / neuroinflammation. As a pain clinician, I also do long-term follow-up outcome researches and new technique development on different interventional pain procedures.
