James Clemmons serves as a Professor of Physics and Astronomy at the University of New Hampshire. His primary research activities focus on the study of geospace phenomena through the development and flight of space experiments. Current interests include the dynamics of the commingled thermosphere-ionosphere and the behavior that arises from high interparticle collision rates. He holds degrees in physics (B.S. from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign; M.A. and Ph.D. from University of California, Berkeley) and chemistry (B.S. from University of Illinois).
