In 2012 I completed my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Immunology for which I received a first class honour from Trinity College Dublin. Following this I undertook a PhD in the Adjuvant Research Group working under the supervision of Ed Lavelle in the Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute focusing on intestinal IgA responses and host-microbiota interactions. I am currently based in the Travis lab at the Lydia Becker Institute of Immunology and Inflammation and Manchester Collaborative Centre for Inflammation Research (MCCIR) at the University of Manchester. My project is attempting to elucidate novel immune-regulatory mechanisms of the TGF-beta activiating integrin alpha v beta 8 in the context of viral infection with the goal of identifying new therapeutic targets.
