Arctic Warming & Global Warming: Physical mechanism, Stretched polar vortex, Jet meandering flow, Rossby wave propagation & impact on weather extremes. 2. Atmospheric Chemistry and Ozone Pollution: Dynamics and transport of Pollutant, Ozone and Dust and its impact on the spread of infectious disease. 3. Tropical Monsoon circulation and dynamics: Air-sea interaction, Tropical convection, Indo-Pacific Ocean warming & impact on Madden Julian Oscillation, Asian & African Monsoon circulation, dynamics & impact on weather extremes. 4. Atmospheric Dynamics and circulation: Wave dynamics, Stratosphere-Troposphere interaction, PV intrusion, Sudden stratospheric warming and its impact on surface weather pattern 5. Weather and Climate prediction and projection: Decadal prediction and Near-long term climate projection with CMIP5/CMIP6/CESM Large & Medium ensemble datasets; 6. Hydroclimatic Extremes: Drought, Heat, Precipitation extremes, Cold snaps & their impact on agriculture and hydrology. 7. Data Science & Geospatial analysis: Observation (Ground based & Satellite borne), Reanalysis, Numerical Modeling for Regional (South Asia, East Asia, Africa)/Global Climate. 8. MST Radar, Lidar, GPS sounding Meteorology: Atmospheric turbulence & Gravity wave dynamics using wind data from MST Radar; temperature and aerosol data from Lidar (Rayleigh, Mie and Boundary Layer Lidar) measurements; Ozone data from GPS Ozonesonde measurements.
