Damián Marelli (Member, IEEE) received the bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering from the Universidad Nacional de Rosario, Argentina in 1995, the bachelor’s (Hons.) degree in mathematics and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Newcastle, Australia, in 2003. From 2004 to 2005, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Laboratoire Analyse Topologie et Probabilites, CNRS/Universite de Provence, France. From 2005 to 2015, he was a Research Academic at the Centre for Complex Dynamic Systems and Control, University of Newcastle. In 2007, he received a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship, hosted at the University of Vienna, and in 2011 he received a Lise Meitner Senior Fellowship, hosted at the Austrian Academy of Sciences. Since 2016, he has been a Professor at the School of Automation, Guangdong University of Technology, China and an Independent Researcher appointment at the French-Argentinean International Center for Information and Systems Sciences, National Scientific and Technical Research Council, Argentina. His main research interests include system theory, statistical signal processing, and distributed processing.
