Daniele Groppi

Daniele Groppi is a PhD student in Energy and Environment at Sapienza University of Rome. After the M.Sc. degree, he attended a postgraduate I level master's degree on Strategy of Energy Management Systems. Simultaneously, he started working in the research field collaborating in the Interreg MED - PRISMI project where he had the possibility to analyse the island energy system of the small island of Favignana, Italy. Currently, he is working on two EU funded projects in the topic of renewable energy in islands (H2020 - GIFT project and EEA and Norway Grants funded YENESIS project), further deepening his knowledge and awareness of the energy issue in insular contexts. Within his Ph.D. project, he is studying Smart Energy Systems in order to increase the RES penetration of energy island systems by fully exploiting the synergies of sectors coupling solutions leading to an optimal energy use and peak demand shifting.
