Research Summary
I conduct research relating to population health (epidemiology) and am broadly interested in how society (and its change) influences the different dimensions of health. This includes comparative research across time (within the UK) and across country. Specific recent interests have included obesity, physical activity, mental health, and (in ongoing work) the changing importance of socioeconomic and genetic factors. I have been supported by funding from the ESRC (ongoing), Academy of Medical Sciences (2017-20) and the Medical Research Council (New Investigator Award, 2020-23).

I have made ongoing contributions to the continued running and scientific development of cohort studies housed at UCL, currently as co-investigator of the 1958 British birth cohort study (NCDS).
