He has presently again accepted responsibility as the Leader of the FEM Group.,Dr. Newell is a member of the Philosophical Society of Washington, the Chair of the CODATA Task Group on Fundamental constants, and a fellow of the American Physical Society. He was awarded the NRC Post-Doctoral Fellowship to work on the Watt Balance Project at NIST.
