Deepayan Bhowmik received the B.E. degree in electronics engineering from the Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur, India, in 2003, the M.Sc. degree in electronics and information technology from Sheffield Hallam University, Sheffield, U.K., in 2006, and the Ph.D. degree from The University of Sheffield, U.K., in 2011. He was a Research Associate with Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, and The University of Sheffield and a System Engineer with ABB Ltd., India. He is currently a Lecturer in computing with Sheffield Hallam University. His research interests include multimedia forensics and security, computer vision, and embedded image processing hardware. He received the U.K. Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) Dorothy Hodgkin Postgraduate Award from 2006 to 2010 and a Digital Catapult-EPSRC Fellowship from 2016 to 2017 to conduct research on multimedia security.
