Dörte Becher

Dörte Becher studied chemistry from 1987-1992, and received the MS (Diplom) degree in chemistry in 1992 and the PhD degree in microbiology in 1998. During this time, she worked as a guest student at the University of Aberdeen. She is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Institute for Microbiology of the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Universität Greifswald, Germany. Since 1999, she has been responsible for mass spectrometry at the Institute for Microbiology. Her research interests are in the areas of mass spectrometry in proteomics, in particular, the protein identification, investigation of posttranslational modifications, methods of gel free protein identification/quantitation, and characterization of protein complexes.
