Domen Mongus (Member, IEEE) is currently an Associate Professor with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Maribor, Maribor, Slovenia. His research interests include environmental intelligence, data fusion, feature learning, and remote sensing data processing. Dr. Mongus was a Long-Time Member of the Executive Committee of the European Umbrella Organization for Geographic Information and the Vice-President of the Program Board of Strategic Research and Innovation Partnership in Smart Cities. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of Geographical Information Systems International Group (GISIG). For his extensive research work in the respected fields, he was, among others, named Young Scientist of Danube Region and received the highest institutional academic award for exceptional contributions to the scientific and pedagogical reputation and excellence of the University of Maribor.
