Elif Eren

Currently, I am working on identifying novel drug targets for HIV-1 and Hepatitis viruses HBV and HCV. More specifically, I am using x-ray crystallography, cryo-em and biochemical techniques to study viral fusion to host membrane (mainly HIV-1 gp41 protein), viral interaction with host proteins (HIV-1 rev protein human Nap-1, B23 and tubulin interactions) and identification of neutralizing antibody against nucleocapsids (HBV and HCV core protein specific scFvs and nanobodies). In addition, I am working on HSV US11 protein and its role in host immune suppression.
