Emma Slaymaker

I started working life as a sailing instructor but was lured away by the bright lights of epidemiology. I have now spent so long working with demographers that the disciplinary boundaries are starting to blur. At LSHTM, I am based in the Population Studies Group and work with the ALPHA network of longitudinal HIV studies in Africa (https://alpha.lshtm.ac.uk/). My research interests centre round using large and complex data sources to understand and improve sexual health. I also run a course helping people to use Stata more efficiently and with less effort.
