Enming Zhang

Associate professor Enming Zhang is the research group leader of islet pathophysiology at the Department of Clinical Science Malmö, Lund University. He is also the principal investigator at Lund University Diabetes Centre (LUDC) and NanoLund Research Centre. He has been actively involved in research of pancreatic islet functions since 2007 when he was granted a Marie Curie research training network fellowship (FP6). In recent years, he has received financial support from the Swedish Research Council (VR) and other funding bodies, which enabled him to establish his research group. The group, including two PhD students, one postdoc and two technicians, focuses on investigating pancreatic islet functions and type-2 diabetes using cutting-edge technologies, e.g. nanotechnology, modern imaging technology and molecular biology. The long-term goal of the group is to explore new knowledge or a strategy to prevent or repair the damage of islet cells during the process of diabetes development.
