EC has been studying how the mind can sometimes evolve into states which are distressing and departs from its usual functioning. These conditions have been considered as mental disorders. A multitude of factors are likely to be involved in a complex, cascading manner. From a scientific as well as humanistic perspective, EC and his Team (the PSI team) have been studying how best to understand and to help individuals in these states of mind.
