Federico Brilli is a plant eco-physiologist. His research focuses on the mechanisms of plant (primary and secondary) metabolism involved in plant resistance and acclimation to biotic and abiotic stresses. He has gained an interdisciplinary knowledge and understanding on the molecular, biochemical and physiological processes regulating the biosynthesis and production of volatile organic compounds (VOC) involved in host-plant and plant-plant communication.
