My research activity is devoted to the study of the equilibrium and non-equilibrium properties of complex materials displaying exotic and intertwined phases, like superconductivity, charge-order, magnetism and topology. My approach to face the problem exploits time-resolved spectroscopies, both optical and photoelectronic, based on ultrashort (fs) laser pulses combined in a pump-and-probe scheme. Indeed, the study of phases of matter under non-equilibrium conditions can reveal new and interesting phenomena about the material under scrutiny, that are hidden at equilibrium.
