Since 1999, Staff of Rheumatology at the University Hospital de Canarias in Tenerife where I set up an independent laboratory with capacity for cellular and molecular biology. The lines of interest are the physiology of transendotelial leukocytes migration during the inflammatory response and the study of the involvement of B-cell in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis. Principal investigator of 10 national projects in biomedicine in the background of health research and the national R&D Plan. Regarding publications, participation in more than 80 articles indexed in MedLine, with an h-number of 32 and a cumulative number of citations about 3500. In 2011, Professor and since 2019 Full-Professor of Medicine in the Universidad de La Laguna being responsible for theoretical and practical teaching of Rheumatology in the Bachelor of Medicine. Since April 2011, Director of the Research Unit of the Spanish Society of Rheumatology, where epidemiological research projects, large databases, registries, Guidelines and Recommendation documents are designed and executed.
