Ortiz Fernando C

Fernando Ortiz is an electrophysiologist with a strong background in different techniques, from single channel to extracellular field recording as well as in a wide range of preparations including cellular culture, in situ ENG, acute brain slices, and in vivo deep brain recordings. During his PhD studies he contributed to the chemoreception field with several articles. After his doctoral thesis, he got interested in the neuron-glia interactions at the CNS. During his postdoc at Dr. Angulo´s lab (https://ipnp.paris5.inserm.fr) he worked on the role of the communication between neuron and oligodendrocyte progenitors in the myelination and remyelination process. Since 2017 Dr. Ortiz led his own group back in Chile, focused on the study of myelin repair and formation mechanisms. www.myelin-lab.cl
