Bio
Florent Colas received the Ph.D. degree in study of the near-field and the far-field properties of arrays of nanocylinders for the detection of organic compounds from Université Sorbonne-Paris-Cité in 2017.
Since 2015, he is an Optical Instrumentation Engineer with Ifremer. He has been in charge of several development projects: An underwater biosensor for assaying a phycotoxin at concentration lower than 1 ng/mL, a new imaging system coupled to machine learning algorithm for automatic classification of plankton, which is now routinely used during fish stock assessment campaigns in European water, the implementation of power-over-fiber technologies to extend seabed observatories up to 10 km.
