G. Von Plessen

Gero von Plessen was born in 1964. He received the M.Sc. degree in physics from the University of Dundee, Dundee, U.K., under the supervision of W. Spears, and the Ph.D. degree from Marburg University, Marburg, Germany, under the supervision of E. O. Göbel. He then worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow with J. R. Ryan at the University of Oxford, Oxford, U.K., before he joined the group of J. Feldmann at the University of Munich, Munich, Germany. Since 2001, he has been a Professor in physics at RWTH Aachen University, Aachen, Germany, where he heads the Nanostructure Optics group. His research centres on the optical properties of metal nanostructures.
