Currently he serves as the member of polymer council of Chinese Chemistry Society; editor of Frontiers of Chemistry in China magazine. He is also the member of editorial board of Chemical Journal of Chinese University; Composite Interfaces; Journal of Adhesion Science and Technology.. Professor Xue's published SCI papers ranked 1st in China in 1994. He won the second prize of the State Natural Science Award in 2004 for the distinguished work in “Chemical and electrochemical polymerization of heterocycle compounds on metal surface” . His doctor students Shi Jin and Dongshan Zhou won the award of the 100 National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation of China in 2001 and 2005, respectively.
