Bio
Heinrich Laqua was born in Gliwice, Poland, in 1964. He received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in physics from the University of Karlsruhe, Karlsruhe, Germany, in 1990 and 1994, respectively.
He developed and investigated active plasma sources for light ion beam accelerators with Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe, Karlsruhe. In 1994, he joined the Max-Planck-Institut für Plasmaphysik, Garching, Germany. He was involved in the electron cyclotron resonance heating of fusion plasmas, first, for the Wendelstein7-AS experiment; and since 2000, for the Wendelstein7-X experiment with Greifswald, Germany. His current research interests include waves in plasmas, the EC-interaction, and on Stellarator confinement.
Dr. Laqua is a member of the Max-Planck-Society and the Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft.
