H. Ziock

Hans Ziock received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in physics from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, in 1975 and 1980, respectively. His thesis was entitled, “Pion Induced Quasi-Elastic Knockout Reactions on Carbon.” In 1981, he joined Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), Los Alamos, NM, where he has worked on a diverse set of areas ranging from solid state detector development, to radiation damage, to particle and high energy physics, to proton radiography, to television based holography, to advanced power generation concepts, to $\hbox{CO}_{2}$ disposal in the form of mineral carbonates, and finally the origins of life. Since 1999, he has been working for the Earth and Environmental Sciences Division of LANL. His current research interests include the origins of life, $\hbox{CO}_{2}$ controls, and advanced power concepts.
