Haroon Stephen received the B.S. degree in agricultural engineering from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan, in 1995, the M.S. degree in remote sensing and geographic information systems from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Bangkok, Thailand, in 1997, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from Brigham Young University, Provo, UT, in 2006. During his Ph.D. studies, he conducted research at the Microwave Earth Remote Sensing Laboratory and has also instructed undergraduate classes. From 1997 to 1998, he was with the European Space Agency office, AIT, where he investigated scatterometer applications to study land surfaces. During this time, he also taught short courses in remote sensing. He is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Water Resources Laboratory, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Nevada, Las Vegas. His current research interests include microwave remote sensing applications to water resources and hydrology studies using spaceborne radars and radiometers.
