Heather Iles-Smith

Heather is Head of Nursing for Research and Innovation (R&I) at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (LTHT) and Honorary Clinical Associate Professor, University of Leeds. She has joint responsibility for modernising R&I at LTHT and is responsible for research capacity building and developing clinical academic careers for nurses, midwives and the Allied Health Professions (NMAHP). Heather also leads the development of the clinical research delivery service and workforce at LTHT. Her National roles include Chair of the Association of UK Lead Research Nurses (AUKLRN), and membership of the Council of Deans NMAHP research capacity building group.
